2024 Assignments by Stake


 

2024 Orchard Assigned Dates & Times

 2024 Orchard Assigned Dates & Times

Weather:  If it’s storming just prior to the event, we will call it off.  Feel free to help on another day we are working.

Assigned Days:  Are posted on the Dates and Times Spreadsheet be;pw.

Farm Hours:  

Ø Pruning, Thinning, Harvest:  Monday through Saturday 8:30-10:30 AM, Monday through Thursday 5:30-7:30 PM. 

Ø Shed Duty:  Monday through Saturday 10 AM to Noon (4 people), Monday through Thursday 7 PM until Done (9 people) 

Ø Youth:  Wednesday evenings 6:30 PM on your Stakes assigned day.

Directions:

Ø  Pruning, Thinning:  Bring the whole Stake out on these days during the Farm Hours.

Ø  July Pruning, Thinning:  Only 20 from each is needed on your assigned day.

Ø  Harvest:  Is planned from August 15 to September 20, Monday through Saturday on the hours stated above.  We will need each Stake to provide lists of 15 people and for small Stakes 5 people each day of harvest.

Ø  Shed Duty:   On your assigned day you need 4 people 10AM to Noon and 9 people for 7PM to Done.   These people need to be able to bend over and level fruit.  In the evenings 2 can sit at the table and weigh fruit and put the tags on the bins.  No one is under the age of 14.

Ø  Youth:  Bring all your youth on your stakes assigned day.  They will need to wear work clothes and bring work gloves if they have them.  Please don’t call and ask what we are doing that night.  We just work our way down the list of things that need to be done so we will not know what they are doing until earlier in the day.  It will be work on a farm and they will get dirty.

Ø  Machine Operators:  Each Stake will provide us with a list of at least 4 willing and competent machine operators.  Identified as a competent Tractor, Forklift, and ATV drivers.  They will need to come to a meeting on August 1 at 7 PM.   Machine Operators will need to be there Monday through Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 and Monday through Thursday 6:30 PM to 9:00 pm. (on Harvest dates)
